The Men’s Volleyball team won their first Forsyth Cup since 2020, beating the Windsor Lancers three sets to one on March 7.

The next step in Queen’s OUA championship aspirations came in the form of the Western Mustangs, who they would take on at home this past Friday, Feb. 28 in front of a sold-out crowd in the ARC.

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball suffered a heartbreaking loss in round one of the OUA playoffs on Feb. 21, when they fell to the University of Toronto (U of T) Varsity Blues in five sets.

Every year, since the hiring of current Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Gabriel deGroot in the 2018-19 season, the Gaels have been a perennial OUA championship contender.

This weekend, both the Women’s and Men’s Volleyball teams took on the Western Mustangs in another installment of a historical rivalry.

Led by Amanda Siksna, the new all-time Gaels’ blocks leader, Queen’s left the York Lions cowering after a two game series.

Queen’s Women’s and Men’s Volleyball teams sent the undefeated Windsor Lancers home from the ARC last weekend with their first losses of the OUA season.

Queen’s Women’s and Men’s Volleyball teams delivered intense back-to-back matches against the Brock Badgers this past weekend Nov.1 to 2, showcasing resilience and grit. The Women’s team, now 3-1, split their doubleheader, while the Men’s team continued their unbeaten streak at 4-0.

This week student-athletes and staff gathered in the ARC to celebrate the Colour Awards and the 2023-24 season, ‘The Journal’ recaps.
