Natalie shares what trends and recommendations have caught her heart.

Between the midterm season and Cupid’s rogue arrows beginning to take flight, the end of January has everyone’s heart rates up. But this love season looks different for everyone, so here are my hot tips for making February your Valentine.

Watch

The second season of Apple TV’s hit series Severance has taken the world—and Grand Central Station—by storm.

Following the raging success of season one, season two’s weekly drops had much to live up to. Two episodes in, they’re more than meeting the mark. Starring Adam Scott and Britt Lower, the sci-fi workplace drama follows a group of employees of the fictional Lumon Industries, whose work selves are neurologically severed from who they are outside of business hours.

Severance takes the idea of a work-life balance and completely flips it on its head—complete with creepy twists and haunting characters.

If you’re looking for a show to agonize over with your pal-entines, or have it mansplained by a Hinge date, Severance is the one for you.

Listen

Bad Bunny’s latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, has spent its second week atop both the Billboard 100 and my “on repeat” playlist.

As a long-time Bad Bunny fan, my love for his newest album comes at no surprise. It’s electrifying and familiar—music perfect for both dancing in the kitchen with a loved one or pre-ing for a night out with friends. My personal favourite tracks are “NUEVAYoL” and “DtMF”.

February feels like the perfect month to stream DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, and not just because of my crush on Bad Bunny, but because it’s sure to hit you right in the feels.

Wear

Maybe it’s because midterm season is approaching, or the recent snowfall, but currently my only fashion item on rotation is my sweatpants. But hear me out—I’m determined to make sweatpants cool again.

Even if they’re covered in coffee stains and lint balls, pairing some sweats with a cute knit and a fun pair of sneakers can elevate even the grimiest studying fit. Or, if you’re looking to go the extra mile, consider investing in some fun, colourful sweatpants—I’m currently loving my pair from Urban Outfitters.

So, next time you have a movie date, drop the jeans—you can wear sweatpants and still be cute.

Read

If there’s one book I can’t stop thinking about, it’s Ashley Audrain’s novel The Whispers.

The Whispers explores the aftermath of a terrible accident in a suburban community. The novel takes place over the week following the incident, switching between the perspectives of the different women implicated, all united by rage, confusion, and bonded by secrets they’ve yet to reveal.

The book is a total page-turner, guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat. Though it’s definitely not a romance novel, it has themes of love, sex, and heartbreak that would have Cupid himself hooked.

Visit

Nothing screams Valentine’s like a pottery date.

Crock A Doodle, a Kingston institution for pottery-lovers and romantics alike, is the perfect February treat. Whether you’re making a jewelry dish for yourself, an ashtray for a friend, or a mug for your significant other, Crock A Doodle has it all.

Although you won’t get the full Ghost (1990) pottery wheel experience, throw on “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers and let your creative juices flow.
