Strike or not, Winter 2025 undergraduate courses are running.

As the Public Service Alliance Canada (PSAC) 901 strike enters its third week, the University is reassuring undergraduate students that their academic progress will not be disrupted. In a Labour News update released on March 26, the University committed to ensuring that students will receive grades or credits for their courses and that convocations will proceed as planned.

Amid concerns over the absence of graduate student instructors, the University clarified for courses led by Teaching Fellows, grades will be assigned where possible. If a grade cannot be determined, students may receive credit standing, subject to approval from the appropriate Dean’s office.

Despite the ongoing labour disruption, the University emphasized that key academic dates for the Winter 2025 term remain unchanged. Final exams will proceed as scheduled from April 7 to April 23. As of March 28, instructors are no longer permitted to alter exam schedules or add new exams to the timetable.

“We recognize that strikes are disruptive, and strike-related impacts can cause stress and uncertainty for students. Our priority is to ensure all students complete the Winter 2025 term as planned,” the University said in its update.
